Puppy Progress

The puppies are getting very close to being ready to go home. We feel confident that within one week they will be ready to go to their new homes. If, for some reason, we feel as if they aren't quite there,we will hold them for another week, just for good measure. Sending a puppy home too soon is very taxing on the animal, and the owner (trust me).

New pictures to come, this evening.

Male/Female groups

< Females 6
                                                                    4 Males>

Stu

Last, but most certainly not least (he is actually second largest next to Rope) is Stu. This unique and solid headed little stud is a prime example of good things come to those who wait. He was born at 2 a.m. labor started at 7 pm. Long night. He is growing quickly, and has the most unique marking set of any of the pups.

JB

J.B. has been spoken for. Congrats to the Chastain family, he is beautiful and growing quickly.

Monroe

Monroe-

OOOOOOH I love this dog. She is heavily marked, but in a very neat and classy way. She has a near perfect mask, and excellent line. From the profile (which is a hard picture to get of a squirmy pup) she has a perfect snout composition, and proportion. She could easily show and win.

Bailey

Bailey Bailey (Female) is a gorgeous duplicate of her mother. Thus far, she is my favorite. She is slightly smaller than the other liver pups but makes up for it in initiative. While observing the puppies, she appears to initiate most of the feeding frenzies. She is first in line, and first to finish. She is contented most of the time. This pup shows potential and alpha characteristics.

Trinity

Another female, Trinity has some very neat markings. Instead of cookie cutter circles she has irregularly shaped liver spots. The one on her hind end lends itself to creating a white ring around the to of her tail, and the one on her front right leg will look exceptional on point. This is a classy pup through and through.

Shilo

Shilo- Within a few minutes of Shady, Shilo was born. She was a replica of Shilo and it is very hard to tell them apart. With the exception of an extra white tipped toe on the back, they are identical. Time will tell what personality differences they are. Past experience with puppies has taught us that two pups that look the same, can have ENTIRELY different personalities. We are excited to see how they play out. Shilo is also leggy, and an active female.

Shady

After seeing a sea of white, we were very excited to see This little female Shady. She has identical markings to her mom, and similar body structure (long legs). She is quiet, and growing quickly as well.

Roe

Rope- well, let's start by saying, his name is Rope because when he was born, my 3 year old noticed he looked like a tow rope with all of his little puppy rolls. He is HUGE. He was almost double the size of the first two born. He hit the ground running, and doesn't have a problem making room in the litter. That being said, he is probably the quietest puppy, but the fastest thus far. It is still early in the game, but I'm predicting him to be pick male. He is a beautiful solid white with solid mask, and white blaze on his face. His muzzle will be white. Gorgeous. Gorgeous. Gorgeous dog.

Max

Max was a duplicate of Luna, with the exception of being a male. Their markings are very similar. This puppy is the runt, however, he is the most vocal, and active thus far. He is catching up on his litter mates in a hurry, and appears to be gaining weight the most quick.

Luna

Luna- Luna (la una Spanish for the one) was the first pup born. She is a beautiful white with a single liver spot on her back, and a good looking liver mask. Based on the markings of the stud, we are expecting a moderate tick to come in shortly. This pup is quiet, but a veracious eater, and active.

10 Pups Whelped

We are pleased to announce that Addy delivered 10 happy and healthy pups on April 17th. Her labor was approximately 7 hours, but she was a champion, and is an exceptional mother. I took the pups to the vet today for dew claws (removal) and tail docking (I left approximately 60% as per breed standard.) Each puppy has a very clean bill of health, and the vet was very impressed with their physical appearance and overall size for such a large litter. I will post pictures of the puppies, in the order delivered. Each name is only tentative (my son named them all), and we encourage the new owners to select a new name as soon as possible so we can help with recognition and training. Enjoy!!

Litter Announcement!

We are pleased to announce that we have decided to produce another litter of GSP pups after the success of the first group of pups.

For this go round we were fortunate to strike a breeding agreement with Mr. Clint Wirick, and his exceptional stud Dax.

2010 NSTRA Champion

To provide the greatest chance of successful conception we (I mean Clint.....not me......just Clint) performed artificial insemination 4 times. The first time was on February 17th, and we are therefore expecting a whelp date on or around the 17th of April. Puppies should be ready to go home in Mid June, and will be ready to start training during fall hunting season.

She is currently showing early signs of pregnancy including being clingy and nipple changes.

We have received a high interest in puppies through word of mouth, and general acknowledgement of the success of Addy's previous litter.

Jack and Mo (Last Puppies)

Jack and Mo are the last puppies remaining of the Feb 19th litter. The puppies are 8 weeks old on Friday, and are ready for their new placements. Both dogs show amazing potential, and will be excellent hunting companions.

We are taking a trip to southern Utah over the next 2 weeks. If you are interested in a puppy, please let me know so we can get him to you before we head out.

Thanks!!

Addy Training on Easter

I had a chance to take Addy out for her first run since the puppies were Whelped. She was in desperate need of a break, and the puppies are at the point where they are fine without her. I was very impressed with her growth following the puppy whelping. Here are a few pictures of her. Her style has come a long way, and she has increased confidence.
